Rabies

Post-exposure rabies management recommendations and vaccines are available at cost if treatment is indicated. Individuals are referred to the Meritus Medical Center emergency department to receive the RIG (Immune Globulin), the first vaccination and any wound treatment. The remaining doses of rabies vaccine may be administered either at the health department or at Meritus Medical Center.

Call 240-313-3210 for guidance after a potential rabies exposure or to schedule an appointment. Please bring documentation of previous rabies vaccinations to your visit.
